Monday, November 9, 2015:
Standard:
SB3. Students will derive the relationship between single-celled and multi-celled organisms and
the increasing complexity of systems.
a. Compare how structures and function vary between the six kingdoms
(archaebacteria, eubacteria, protists, fungi, plants, and animals).
b. Compare and contrast viruses with living organisms.
Kick-Off:
~Are viruses living things?
Teaching/Learning Strategies:
~W.G.S: What makes something a living thing? (Students will need to recall characteristics of
living things.)
~Students will add the following terms their vocabulary GO/Quizlet/Flash Cards
~Pathogen
~Viroid
~Prion
~Capsid
~Students will begin virus scavenger hunt. Students will use Virus GO found on the OLC to find
required information. (Students who were absent or need extra time, will be allowed 10-15
minutes to complete Bacteria GO.)
Summarizer:
~Socrative over Bacteria Characteristics
Assessment:
~Kick-Off, Socrative, Quizlet, flash cards
Material Needed: iPad, Virus GO 1, Virus Vocabulary GO, flash cards, quizlet, iNotes
