To meet our vision, our new catalogue contains over 800 products, including media, biochemicals, and equipment and supplies developed and tested specifically for the plant sciences. This includes over 150 new products that have been added since our last catalogue. Thinking Green: In an effort to help support our recycling and environmental management efforts and as a responsible corporate community member, this catalogue is being provided in an electronic format to reduce the number of trees required to print the catalogue and reduce the petroleum based products required for printing and cost associated with distributing the catalogue. If you need hard copies of the catalogue, you can print out the sections that are most important to your particular applications. New updates of the catalogue will be periodically available as downloads from our web site. We look forward to the upcoming years and the opportunity to continue to earn your business. Exceptions to this are: 1) no orders are shipped on Fridays (since most products are temperature sensitive), 2) orders containing products not currently in stock (please call to inquire about stock status), 3) orders placed around holidays, 4) orders placed by new customers, or 5) shipments to residential addresses. These may require more than 48 hrs to ship. All products are shipped FOB PhytoTechnology Laboratories. To ensure that our products arrive in optimal condition we recommend the following shipping methods: • Products labeled for storage at room temperature be shipped via ground. • Products labeled for storage at 2-6° C be shipped by twoday express service. • Products labeled for storage at -20-0° be shipped by overnight express service. One- and two-day air delivery at ambient temperatures ensures that product quality will not be compromised. Refrigerator or freezer storage is recommended for the long-term stability of the product. Short-term exposure to ambient temperatures experienced during shipping will not detrimentally affect the product’s quality or shelf-life. Shipping charges are based upon weight of the shipment and distance shipped. PhytoTechnology Laboratories makes every effort to find the least expensive method of shipping. Products cannot be shipped to a P.O. Box unless special arrangements are made at the time the order is placed. A minimum $5.00 handling charge per box will be added to shipping charges. Shipments to residential addresses typically incur a surcharge by the carrier. Ø Keep in mind that shipping rates may change at any time without prior notice. Shipping quotes are valid only for 30 days from the date of the quote. Shipping charges are determined by weight and zone. Ø Shipping rates may also be affected by the following: o A minimum $5.00 handling charge per box will be added to shipping charges. A surcharge may be added to shipments to residential addresses by the carrier. o Hazardous material surcharges range from $23.00 per Hazardous UN Number for ground shipments to $50.00 per Hazardous UN Number for air shipments. o Box size may affect rates on air shipments. o Shipping charge quotes can be provided for domestic orders over $2500 and all international orders. Please bear in mind that these quotes are estimates and that the actual shipping charges are subject to change. ©2008 PhytoTechnology Laboratories™ Introduction • Page 3 Introduction SHIPPING HAZARDOUS PRODUCTS The US Department of Transportation and IATA (International Air Transport Assoc.) classify certain products as hazardous products. Packaging and shipment of these products is regulated and all carriers impose Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) fees. This service saves you time in media preparation and reduces the possibility of technician error in the formulation of the media. Our confidentiality agreement assures you that all records pertaining to custom media manufacturing will be held in the strictest confidence. Packaging: We can package a standard medium formulation or your proprietary media in any package size that best meets your media preparation requirements. Simply let us know the standard batch size that you prepare and we can package your media in that package size. MANUFACTURING AND TESTING PhytoTechnology Laboratories™’ plant tissue culture media and reagents are prepared from the highest quality raw materials available. Most raw materials meet appropriate ACS or USP specifications. All raw materials must meet release specifications prior to formulation and milling in controlled environmental conditions. All of our media and basal salt formulations are manufactured and tested in-house. Quality is monitored during each step of preparation. All media are prepared according to their original formulas or accepted modifications as noted in our technical literature. Once manufactured, each lot of product is assayed for chemical, physical, and biological specifications to make certain that the quality meets our standards. The specifications set for each product ensure lot-to-lot consistency. ©2008 PhytoTechnology Laboratories™ The growth promoting activity of all plant tissue culture products, where applicable, is evaluated with a minimum of two commercially important plant cell lines (species). Media are reconstituted to recommended concentrations, dispended, and sterilized. Media are supplemented with the appropriate concentrations of biochemicals or plant growth regulators, depending upon the cell line being tested. Every PhytoTechnology Laboratories™’ product is evaluated for its ability to promote shoot proliferation and cell growth. Each lot of product is compared to product history and literature references for growth promoting activities. Where applicable, each product lot is evaluated for active production of shoots, embryos, or plantlets without morphological aberration, increase in callus fresh weight, root production, and overall appearance of the tissue. WARRANTIES This warranty is exclusive, and PhytoTechnology Laboratories™ makes no other warranty, expressed or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability of fitness for any particular purpose.
