Summer Intensive Program
INTERMEDIATE LEVEL: (age 11+, and 2-3 consecutive years of ballet) Dancers participate in rotating classes,
Monday to Friday from 10:00 am to 2:30pm. Classes include Ballet Technique, Pointe (if approved by instructor), and Jazz.
ADVANCED LEVEL: (age 13+, 4+ consecutive years of ballet): Dancers participate in rotating classes, Monday to
Friday from 10:00 am to 3:30pm. Classes include Ballet Technique, Pointe, Variations, and Jazz.
Tuition
Intermediate: $300.00 for 1 Week
$550.00 for 2 Weeks
Advanced: $370.00 for 1 Week
$660.00 for 2 Weeks
A $100.00 security deposit is due on May 27th, with the balance due by June 9th.
Drop In Rate: 1 hour class will be $20.00
1 ½ hour class will be $30.00
If a dancer must withdraw due to a medical illness or injury, a credit for the unused portion of the tuition will
be applied for classes. Medical documentation will be required. Refunds are not allowed under any other
circumstances.

NIKOLOZ MAKHATELI Artistic Director & Choreographer
Mr. Makhateli combines his international experience and lifelong commitment to the art of ballet with his joy
of teaching. In the studio, he inspires young dancers as he instructs with care, kindness, and a true love of
music, high standards and expectations for his dancers. Nikoloz instills in his dancers a true passion for the
artistry of Ballet, drawing from years of his own ballet experience as well as that of his son, David Makhateli,
Principal Dancer with the Royal Ballet, Covent Gardens and his daughter, Maia, lieder roles dancer for the Hat
National Ballet Company in Amsterdam Nikoloz graduated in 1966 from the Tbilisi National Ballet School
and received his Masters Degree as a teacher, repetiteur and choreographer from the Tbilisi State Institute of
Theatrical Arts in 1975. He performed as Principal Dancer with the National Theater Opera House in (Soviet)
Georgia throughout 1966-1992, dancing all the leading roles in the classical repertoire. During 1980-1990 he
served as a choreographer and Master Teacher with Maurice Bejarts's "Mudra-Afrique" school (Senegal), and
with the National Ballet School (Nicaragua). He extended his degree qualification to the topmost level as Ballet
Master - Choreographer with the Kirov Ballet (St. Petersburg) from 1986-1987. His areas of expertise include:
the full eight-year Vaganova syllabus, the entire Petipa repertory, and the complete Georgia Ballet and Drama
repetitoire. In Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia, he was the Director of Choreography at the National Ballet
Academy from 1991-1992 and served as the Principle Choreographer of the Georgia National Musical Theatre
and Head of Dance Department at the Institute of Fine Arts from 1993-2001. Nikoloz was also awarded the
"order of the Mark of Distinction" from the Republic of Georgia, the supreme honor of the Georgia Republic.
From 2001-2005, he worked with the Sun Valley Ballet School (Boise, Idaho) and the David Taylor Dance
Theatre and Ascot Foundation for Arts & Education (Denver, Colorado). Since 2005, Nikoloz has served as
Artistic Director of “Makhateli Ballet” with the mission to provide the highest caliber of dance training in the
State of Colorado. In February 2005, at the esteemed international Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) semifinals dance Competition held in Denver, Colorado, all first places at the senior level, as well as the overall
Grand Prix, was awarded to Nikoloz's dancers. At the 2005 YAGP Finals, one of Nikoloz’s dancers was the
only dancer from Colorado and one of just a handful of dancers from the U.S. to advance to the finals at the
international level. In March 2006, the YAGP named Nikoloz the "Most Outstanding Teacher" and ten of his
dancers (the most from any School in the region) were invited to compete at the YAGP Finals held in New
York City in April 2006.
MARINA LOLADZE instructs Vaganova Levels IV and V at the Makhateli Ballet Academy. Marina has an
extensive training, teaching and performance background. She received her training from the Georgian
National Ballet School and danced at the Georgian Opera House. She has over 20 years dancing leading roles
in many Classical ballets. She enjoys taking at least partial credit for the successes that her children, David and
Maia Makhateli have enjoyed. Marina’s teaching of excellent technique and artistry with grace and charm is
loved by her dancers.

HEALTH: Applicant certifies to be in good health and capable of participating in all
Program activities.
CONDUCT: Applicant understands that dancers are expected to maintain the highest
standards of conduct. Dancers found in violation of program standards will be dismissed
from program. Rules and standards of conduct will be provided prior to arrival. If a dancer
is sent home due to unacceptable conduct, no refunds will be given.
WAIVER AND STATEMENT OF GOOD HEALTH: I hereby certify that the
Applicant is in good health and understand that Intermediate programs dancers will be
dancing up to 4½ hours/day and Advanced dancers will be dancing up to 5½ hours/day.
We agree that neither Northridge Dance Conservatory nor any of their employees are
responsible for any injury or illness, which may occur on the premises and/or during the
Program.
