What is Global Outreach? Global Outreach (GO!) is a cultural immersion and service program where students learn about social, political, and environmental issues affecting our local and global communities. We encourage our students to incorporate the program’s four pillars of social justice, community, simple living and spirituality into their daily experience as they work with poor and marginalized communities in the United States, Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Europe during the winter, spring and summer breaks. Participants spend almost a full semester getting to know their teammates through meetings, fund-raisers, and a retreat. While they are on the project, students work with their team and our partnering organizations, creating bonds that outlast the length of the project. The project costs are raised by the team through individual and group fundraising. Each group is led by experienced Global Outreach participants who, with the assistance of a chaperone, guide the students as they prepare for and accomplish the team’s goals. What Are The Projects?
