Outreach Mission The College of Environmental Science and Forestry’s mission is to advance knowledge and skills and to promote the leadership necessary for the stewardship of both the natural and designed environments. ESF’s outreach mission is to make high quality educational and professional development experiences available to our diverse constituents. Outreach Vision A Better World through Environmental Discovery ESF Outreach builds upon and extends the College’s educational and research programs and resources to a diverse range of learners who are not typically represented in our full-time undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Outreach efforts enable ESF to be an engaged institution that plays a significant role in enriching the educational and economic quality of the communities we serve – locally, regionally, State-wide, and beyond. As catalysts, linkers and collaborators, ESF Outreach works with on- and off-campus partners to serve individual and societal learning and development needs in order to improve our world. Strategic Priorities In order to ensure alignment of Outreach priorities and resources with our College’s and partners’ priorities, we have identified and established three overarching strategic priorities. These strategic priorities serve as the basis for annual and ongoing self-assessment, planning and reporting. We will continue to engage our several on- and off-campus partners and stakeholders in reviews and discussion in order to ensure progress and alignment. We are committed to serving our learners (students and professionals), our external communities and College partners, and to having an energizing, supportive, and collaborative work environment for our Outreach staff and collaborators. Our three overarching strategic priorities are to 1. Meet the learning and development goals of our program and project participants. 2. Engage with our communities, our partners and across the College. 3. Strengthen and support Outreach capacity.
