Date: Skin Sensitivity Lab Write­Up Grading Guide Per: Requirements and possible points Points Earned Data (25 points) ­Data belongs in this section. ­Describe any and all observations made while collecting data (do not repeat the procedure here). ­In paragraph format, state the results that were actually found (not what you expected or predicted). Averages of multiple trials should appear here. Remember to avoid writing in first person (avoid I, we, etc.) ­Data should be discussed in an organized manner, and it should be easy to understand. Correct units of measure should be used. (5 points) ­Give all individual (your) averages and all lab team averages for each of the 4 skin areas tests and for the control as well as each toothpick caliper distance tested. (20 points) Discussion and Conclusion (50 points) ­Discuss what the results that you detailed in the previous section mean. ­Explain any cause­and­effect relationships and interpret your data. ­Be sure to note any trends in the data and any remarkable data that appears different from the general trends. (15 points) ­Discuss the accuracy of your methodology. Suggest improvements to the procedure if further testing were to be done. (10 points) ­Compare class data to individual or group data if appropriate. ­Restate the hypothesis and discuss the accuracy of your hypothesis ­Actively interpret your results being careful not to simply restate the data section in words. (15 points) ­Formulate a conclusion. This is a single statement based on your data and calculations. Encapsulate your findings in a unified thought. (10 points) Remember to avoid writing in first person (avoid I, we, etc.)
