Web-blended Course Start Dates:

Web-blended courses have particular times that they are scheduled to meet. Please check your schedule to see what that time might be. Your course may meet weekly or only occasionally. It is your responsibility to make sure you know the specific time for your course. Your course will appear in

Blackboard on the first day of the start of your course.

Web-blended Course Log-in Information:

DMACC uses Blackboard to deliver courses. You can find the link by going to the MyOnlineLearning portal at http://www.dmacc.edu/myonlinelearning . Be sure to save this as a favorite. Note: If you have previously taken a course through DMACC online, you need to delete any old bookmarks and use the new one provided.

• Your log-in ID and password for Blackboard are identical to your log-in ID and password for the

DMACC Webmail system. You were previously sent information from the DMACC Registrar with this log-in ID and password. Please note that Blackboard and the DMACC Webmail are tied together. If you change your password in the DMACC Webmail system, it automatically changes the Blackboard password. If you have been a DMACC student previously, you may already know your log-in ID and password for the Webmail system.

• If you have forgotten your password or if you have not received your letter, you can change your own password easily. Go to http://www.dmacc.edu/helpdesk and click on the DMACC Username Look-up or Reset Your Password. Provide the needed information and you’re set to go.

Please note that the Web Info System, which is used for registering for classes, uses different login information and should not be confused with your Online Course log-in. You can contact

DMACC Tech Support at 515-965-7300 for assistance.

Book Ordering Information:

Books can be purchased either online or by phone if you want them mailed to you, or you can pick them up in person at the Bookstore where your course is held. Books can also be ordered online, but please plan on ordering them in advance of the course so that they can be mailed to you in time. Please be sure to buy the textbook(s) designated for the specific section that you are enrolled in. Other sections of the course, with the same name and catalog number, may use a different text than the web-blended section.

Microsoft Office is available at the Bookstore for students at a cost of $10.00. Purchasing this software and installing it on your computer will help make your online course easier to utilize.

Online Information:

The links on the Online Webpage contain answers for frequently asked questions, tutorials, information on free tutoring, contacts and links to various help sites. Please visit the links found at www.dmacc.edu/online .

Student Orientation:

Students will be able to access an online orientation course by logging into Blackboard at http://www.dmacc.edu/myonlinelearning . The orientation course is called “Blackboard Orientation.” This online orientation is for your practice only.

You can also access the online orientation at http://www.dmacc.edu/online/tutorials.asp

.

Students are invited to attend a face-to-face orientation session intended to familiarize students with the online course management application. These sessions are voluntary only and are not mandatory.

Important: You must bring your DMACC username and password to training. If you do not have your username and password, call the DMACC Helpdesk (515-965-7300) before attending training.
