SCHOOL INFORMATION
Speakeasy is Barcelonas leading low-cost Spanish
school. We specialise in high quality, intensive Spanish
courses at affordable prices.
Speakeasy Spanish School is located in the very centre of
Barcelona, close to Plaza Catalunya. The school is
surrounded by shops and restaurants and has fast access
to 3 central Metro stations and over 25 bus lines.
The classrooms are spacious and all have air-conditioning
and heating. Our group sizes are never more than 10
students. Our students come from all over the world and
you can often find 5 or 6 different nationalities in each
class. Most of our students are from 20 to 25 years of age.

We start beginners courses twice a month. If you are
above beginner level, we can offer you a free level test,
and then you usually can start any Monday.

We use a communicative and practical approach to
learning Spanish. The objective of the vocabulary,
grammar and pronunciation that you learn is to be able to
communicate in the Spanish language in an effective way.
The Spanish courses are immersion classes, which
means that all the teaching and textbooks are in Spanish.

What is the teaching method?
We teach communicative Spanish. Classes consist of a mix of
grammar, conversation and exercises.
Can I have a free trial lesson?
No. It disrupts the class and is not fair on the students who have
already paid for a Spanish class.

Why is Speakeasy so cheap?
We are a low-cost school and offer quality classes at reasonable
prices. We do not offer cultural classes or excursions, so you are
not paying for anything that you do not use or need.
Does the school have free Internet access?
Yes. 4 PC's with high speed access, available from 08.30 to 19.00

We have a mix of nationalities and the average age is 23 years.

On public holidays the school is closed and students lose this day. One
public holiday per 4 week period is included in the prices for periods of 4
or more weeks. If there are 2 public holidays in a continuous 4 week

1 hour of class = 55 minutes of class and 5 minutes break. Break times
are combined to make one break in the middle of the class in the 4 hour &
