ECE Transfer Students Guide to Transfer Credit Evaluation Step 1: Make sure all credit is received at OSU Have an OFFICIAL transcript from all colleges/universities you’ve attended sent to: The Ohio State University Undergraduate Admissions P.O. Box 182646 Columbus, OH 43218-2646 If you have taken Advanced Placement (AP) Tests, also have those scores sent to OSU. Contact the College Board at 1-888-225-5427 to request scores. OSU’s school code is 1592. OSU Testing Center number is 614-292-2241 if scores were sent but not posted. Step 2: Gather Information Gather syllabi with titles and authors of textbooks as well as copies of tables of contents. Sometimes the actual textbooks are requested by faculty evaluators at OSU to make appropriate course evaluations. For international students requesting transfer evaluation of ECE courses, textbooks and syllabi are required. Step 3: Look up your DARS Transfer Credit Report on BuckeyeLink and Print Several Copies This report will give you an indication of what courses have transferred as direct equivalent courses and which ones need an additional evaluation through the appropriate academic department. Courses that begin with “S”, “T” or “G” will need an additional evaluation from the respective department and this report needs to accompany your request. To find your DARS Transfer Credit Report go to www.buckeyelink.osu.edu To help you understand this Transfer Credit Report and more helpful information about transfer credit processes, go to: http://registrar.osu.edu/transfer_credit/index.asp Step 4: Refer to the Department Credit Evaluators for Further Evaluations if Needed Following is a link to a list of frequently used Departmental Evaluators that will help you determine your final transfer credit. Additional evaluators for other courses can be found at: http://registrar.osu.edu/transfer_credit/tcc_list.asp For ECE students, the most important evaluations to find out first are mathematics and physics followed by computer science, engineering graphics, introduction to engineering, and chemistry. If you have ECE transfer courses, you will want to wait until all the above courses are evaluated before contacting the appropriate ECE Department Transfer Coordinator.
