It can be part of the building or your still life object. Your focal point should be located off center using the rule of thirds. 3. Use your triangle to draw the first vertical and go on from there. Line only, no shading. You will notice the angles that go to vanishing points, but you will not actually have vanishing points on your page, they would be off the page. Just notice the angles, but verticles should always be drawn with your triangle. 4. When you finish all the details of the architecture, draw your still life object in monumental proportion, like Claus Oldenburg would. Include as much detail as possible - line only, no shading. 6. Choose a color system. Limit your colors to one of the following color schemes: • Monochromatic - variations of one hue • Complementary - two colors that are opposite on the color wheel • Analogous - three or four colors that are next to each other on the color wheel • Triadic - three colors that are equal distance apart on the color wheel (like primary and secondary colors). 7. Use acrylic paint to paint in your drawing. It is usually better to start with the farthest area (the sky) and then work forward. Use all the tints and shades of the hues in your color system.
