Atul Tiwari, managing director, Vanguard Investments

This session will feature three panelists including Som Seif,
president and CEO, Purpose Investments Inc., Nicolas
Papageorgiou, associate professor, HEC Montreal and Walter
Lenhard, senior investment strategist, Vanguard Equity
Investment Group. The panel will be moderated by Christian
Charest, editor of Morningstar.ca.
With investors questioning the value of traditional market-cap
weighted benchmarks, alternative approaches to capture
higher returns, known as Smart Beta, have become increasingly
popular. Our expert panelists will discuss if the time for
the traditional approach to indexing has passed and whether the
many flavours of Smart Beta constitute an improvement.

The 2nd annual Morningstar Golf Tournament is a premier
networking event. Guests will enjoy a round of golf in scramble
format at the prestigious Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, and

The 20th annual Morningstar Awards program represents the
year-long evaluation efforts of dozens of firms, analysts, and
experienced jury members and is designed to help investors
