49 Stevenson St. Suite 1200 San Francisco, CA 94105 415-977-0360 415-977-0355 fax February 27, 2013 Dear XXXXX, The JDRF Greater Bay Area Chapter would like to invite the child in your life to apply to serve as an Ambassador for our 2013 Walk to Cure Diabetes. JDRF is looking for Walk Ambassadors to represent each of our four (4) Greater Bay Area Walk destinations. The role of the Walk Ambassador is to assist JDRF in educating the community about what it is like living with type 1 diabetes (TID). Each will be trained to effectively communicate JDRF’s mission, to find a cure for T1D and its complications through the support of research. The Walk Ambassador program gives JDRF the ability to make our message distinctive, memorable and meaningful. After all, finding a cure for you is what we are all about. We have found the most effective messengers to share the story of TID are the young people who are living with this every day. Last year, our nine Walk Ambassadors found the program to be easy and fun. They learned a great deal and found new friendships with each other. A detailed list of opportunities and expectations is enclosed along with a Walk Ambassador application. If the child in your life is interested in representing JDRF as a 2013 Walk Ambassador, please fill out the enclosed application and fax or mail it back to the Greater Bay Area office. For questions or more information, contact Simone Price at 415-597-6319 or sprice@jdrf.org. We look forward to working with you in our quest to find a cure!
