SMC Summer History Program Enrollment Instructions
 You will need an email account to register. You may use your own personal account or an
account through a web-vendor such as yahoo. Once you have an email account and are ready
to register online for your SMC classes, log on to the Web and follow the instructions below.

Read and fill out the form completely and do not forget to sign it.
Obtain the signatures from your parents.
Have your high school counselor fill out and sign off on which courses they are approving
you to take.
Have your high school principal sign the form to approve your application.
HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPTS


STEP 5
To take the English assessment test. Call (310) 434-8040 or visit the website at
www.smc.edu/assessment for sample test questions and hours. No appointment
necessary.
You must place into English 21A or higher to enroll into the history program.
Necessary Information: Valid ID

STEP 4
Go online and visit the SMC website at www.smc.edu/admissions
Click on “apply” then “Launch Online Application”
Read the “System Requirements” section to ensure that your hardware and software
supports the registration process. Also, read the “Before you start the application…” to
ensure that you have the proper documentation to complete the application process.
Click on “Start Application” at the bottom.
Keep in mind, for “enrollment status” you will click on “Special Admit, currently enrolled in
K-12.” For the residency section, keep in mind that all the questions pertain to your
parents since you are under the age of 19.
Necessary Information: Social Security Number
Obtain your high school unofficial transcript and submit it with your completed forms.
Students will not be allowed to participate in the program if they have previously received
a grade below a C, whether taken at the college or high school level in history.
SUBMIT PAPERWORK TO SANTA MONICA COLLEGE

Turn in the following items to the SMC Office of Admissions & Records:
* Concurrent Enrollment Form
* High School Transcript
* SMC English Assessment Results
* Bring a photo ID
Note: you must come in person if you wish to be processed immediately and to know if you
have been approved. Otherwise, forms can be dropped off in the drop box or mailed to:

You will receive information on the status of your application via email.
STEP 6
NOTIFICATION OF APPROVAL FOR ENROLLMENT


ENROLL FOR YOUR COURSE(S) ONLINE

You will only need to enroll into History 1 or History 11. Once you are enrolled you
will be given directions on how to enroll into History 2 or History 12.

These are high demand classes and have limited seats. Enroll on time!!!

STEP 8
Pay your fees online after you have enrolled into the class. If you do not pay your fees by
the designated date you will be dropped from the class.
PURCHASING REQUIRED BOOKS


STEP 10
In order to enroll into the class the student must first log into Corsair Connect. Once an
identification number and password (6-digit birthday) has been inputted the student must
change their password. When enrolling make certain you are enrolling for the summer
semester - click on add class, type in the four digit section number (see flier) and click,
add the class. It is the student’s responsibility to verify the class has been added.
PAY REQUIRED FEES


You will receive an email with an enrollment date and time; the student should double
check Corsair Connect to verify date and time. Please get familiar with Corsair Connect
prior to your enrollment date.
Students are responsible for purchasing their required books and supplies. This may be
done by visiting the SMC Bookstore on the main campus or by going to
www.smc.edu/bookstore . Students can also use another online vendor.
Necessary Information: Class name and section number for class.
TRANSCRIPTS
After completing the course(s) the student must obtain an SMC Official Transcript for
Santa Monica High School records. Go to www.smc.edu/admissions for directions.
