Autism/ID City Wide Programs
• Support students and teachers in city-wide classrooms on all aspects of
teaching and learning
• Provide training to special education and general education teachers
• Weekly visits to city-wide classrooms for training, modeling, and
support to classroom staff
• Work closely with school psychologists and teachers to complete
Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans for
specific students
• Provide monthly training for teachers of students with moderate
disabilities
• Coordinate the development of Lunch Bunch social skills group, and
provide ongoing consultation
• Consult with special education teachers regarding IEP development

• Support implementation of reading interventions with
fidelity in city wide classrooms

Child Find Services
Child Find Services

ACPS Child Find offers free screenings and/or evaluations for children 2 years of age
by September of the current school year, through five years of age who are suspected
of having developmental delays, or a disability that may be impacting his or her
learning or educational performance
Child is screened in areas of development by Early Childhood Special Educators:
– Communication
– Reasoning/ Thinking skills
– Self help/ Adaptive skills
– Personal-Social skills
– Motor skills
