Official Contest Rules and Regulations
Please read the following rules and regulations carefully (the “Official Rules”). By
participating in UPMC Health Plan’s Reasons to Run sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”),
you (“Entrant”) agree that you conclusively and unquestionably understand and accept
the Official Rules, including all eligibility requirements.
1. No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win the
Sweepstakes. Enrollment in or purchase of a UPMC Health Plan product does
not increase one’s chance of winning.
2. Sponsor: The Sweepstakes is sponsored by UPMC Health Plan, 600 Grant
Street, U.S. Steel Tower, Floor 25, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15219 (the
“Sponsor”).
3. Eligibility: The Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of Pennsylvania,
including UPMC and UPMC Health Plan employees, who are 18 years of age or
older at the time of entry. Void where prohibited.
4. How to Enter: The Sweepstakes begins on April 13, 2015, at 12:00 p.m. (ET)
and ends on April 24, 2015, at 11:59 p.m. (ET). There is one way to enter:
a. The Sweepstakes may be accessed by visiting,

b. During the submission phase, Entrants must select between the “I’m
running the Half Marathon” or the “I’m rooting for someone” path. If you
choose the “I’m running the Half Marathon” path, Entrants must fill in what
their motivation is and fill out all of the required fields. Entrants who
choose the “I’m rooting for someone” path must fill in the name of the
person they are rooting for and fill out all of the required fields
c. ALL ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY 11:59 P.M. ET ON April 24th,
2015. By uploading your submission, you agree that it conforms to the
Sweepstakes Entry Requirements as defined herein, and that Sponsor
may disqualify you from the Sweepstakes if it believes, in its sole
discretion, that your submission fails to conform to the Guidelines and
Restrictions. Uploading your submission also means that you give the
Sponsor permission to repost your “motivation” for Sweepstakes-related
promotions.
d. Limit one (1) entry during the submission phase. In the event that
more than one (1) submission is received from any one (1) person or email address, the first submission processed will be considered the only
valid submissions received for the Sweepstakes. In the event of a dispute,
submission will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the
email address at the time of submission. Any potential winner may be
required to show proof of being the authorized account holder. Proof of
entering information does not constitute proof of delivery or receipt of
such information. Submissions that are incomplete or corrupted are void.
Sponsor is not liable for late or misdirected entries.
5. Sweepstakes: Two winners, (one (1) Runner and one (1) Spectator) will be
randomly selected from all eligible Runner and Spectator entries received during
the Entry Period. Sponsor reserves the right, in is sole discretion, to change the
prizes, cancel, terminate, or suspend the Sweepstakes, in whole or in part, for
any reason in its sole discretion including, without limitation, if causes beyond its
control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of
the Sweepstakes. In such case, Sponsor will select the winner from all eligible
entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by the
Sponsor. By entering the Sweepstakes, Entrant agrees to be bound by these
official rules.
6. Prize: The Grand Prize Winners: Only runners who are participating in the UPMC
Health Plan Pittsburgh Half Marathon, Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh
Marathon, and FedEx Ground Pittsburgh Marathon Relay will be eligible to
receive 1 Runner Grand Prize including: a two-night stay at the Westin
Convention Center hotel in Pittsburgh, PA May 2 and 3, 2015 (non-transferable),
an exclusive cheering area at the finish line for up to 5 friends or family members,
a cheer kit featuring $300 worth of professionally developed signage
noisemakers, etc., $200 gift card to Dick’s Sporting Goods, 1 90-minute sports
massage, $100 gift certificate to a local restaurant, a custom race frame, and a
UPMC Health Plan swag bag. Only spectators cheering for the UPMC Health
Plan Pittsburgh Half Marathon will be eligible to receive 1 Spectator Grand Prize
including: a two-night stay at the Westin Convention Center hotel in Pittsburgh,
PA May 2 and 3, 2015 (non-transferable), an exclusive cheering area at the finish
line for up to 5 friends or family members, a cheer kit including signage, noise
makers, etc. worth approximately $300, 1 90-minute massage, a $100 gift card to
a local restaurant, a FitBit Flex, and a UPMC Health Plan swag bag.
7. Notification: The Prize Winners will be notified via email within two business
days after the close of the Sweepstakes. Sponsor will use commercially
reasonable efforts to contact the Prize Winners. If the Prize Winners cannot be
contacted, if the Prize is returned as undeliverable or is not accepted, or in the
event of noncompliance with these Official Rules, then the Prize will be forfeited
and an alternative winner (“Alternate Prize Winner”) will be selected. The Prize
will be awarded to the original Prize Winners or an Alternate Prize Winner under
all circumstances.
8. Publicity: Except where prohibited, participation in the Sweepstakes and
acceptance of the Prize constitutes Prize Winner’s consent to Sponsor’s use of
his/her name, hometown, and any statements made regarding the Sweepstakes
or Sponsor for advertising and promotional purposes in any media, without
further payment or consideration, except where prohibited by law.
9. Conditions: The Prize Winners will be required to provide Sponsor with proof of
identity when claiming the Prize and agree to accept all terms, conditions, risks
and limitations set forth in the Official Rules. Sponsor makes no representations
with respect to the potential tax implications associated with receipt of the Prize.
Prize Winners will be solely responsible for payment of all applicable taxes.
10. Limitation of Liability: EACH ENTRANT AGREES TO RELEASE, HOLD
HARMLESS AND INDEMNIFY SPONSOR, AND SPONSOR’S PARENT
COMPANY, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES, AFFILIATES AND AGENCIES
OF EACH FOR ANY LIABLITY WHATSOEVER FOR INJURIES OR DAMAGES
OF ANY KIND SUSTAINED IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE, ACCPETANCE,
POSSESSION, OR AWARDING OF ANY PRIZE OR FROM ANY PRIZE- OR
CONTEST-RELATED ACTIVITY, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY
INJURY, DAMAGE, DEATH, LOSS, OR ACCIDENT TO PERSON OR
PROPERTY.
11. Official Rules and Winners List: For a copy of these Official Rules and/or the
name of the Prize Winners, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: UPMC
Health Plan Social Marketing Department, 600 Grant Street, U.S. Steel Tower,
Floor 25, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15219. Requests must be received no later
than one month after the close of the Contest.
12. Choice of Law: The laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania shall govern
the Contest; Sponsor and Entrant agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the state
and federal courts located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. In the event any
such suit is filed in any state or federal court in the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania, Sponsor and Entrant shall not raise and hereby waive the
defenses of lack of personal jurisdiction or venue.
