Directions: You will research and become an expert on major characteristics of an early
civilization. Please answer all questions and present your information in either Microsoft
Word or Microsoft Power Point. Please place a saved copy in your folder.
Name of Your Civilization:
Your project will include the following: Report must follow in this order.
(5 pts.) Title Page. This is the first page. Please see the attached
Page 2 for exact format.
(20 pts.) A Civilization Profile/Map. Find a map of
your civilization. Remember cite your pictures. Then,
provide a short two to three sentence caption/description
of your map.
(50 pts.) A Civilization Presentation. Present your research in an
organized, clear manner. Use the Profile to organize your
presentation. You must include examples/explanation of
all your characteristics. Pictures and charts/graphs can be
presented throughout the presentation.
(15 pts.) A Bibliography. You are responsible for three sources.
Only one Internet source.
(10 pts.) Overall appearance/effort and presentation of the
project. Remember, you must put your research in
presentation format.

A Civilization Profile/Picture.
Ancient Greece
Greece is located politically in Southern Europe, but today is a part of Western
Europe. Greece is home to one of Europe’s oldest and advanced civilization. Athens
and Sparta were two very important city states.

DEVELOPED CITIES OF
GREECE
Athens was a city-state in Greece that
became quite powerful during the Classical Age in
Greek history. Athens experienced a Golden Age as
well as war.
SPARTA
Sparta was another city-state in Greece and was
one of the mightiest as well. They were
particularly fond of fighting and used helots, or
state slaves to expand their city. The Spartans
were fierce warriors.
