Director Position Descriptions
Educational Programming: Responsible for educating all IFC chapters on alcohol safety and policies,
cultural diversity issues, and other topics important to the IFC community. Works in conjunction with IFC
Executive Vice President to keep IFC chapters informed about currents alcohol issues and with IFC Vice
President of Administrative Affairs to bring in educational speakers to the UF community.
Facility Maintenance: Responsible for maintaining close relations with the housing staff from each
chapter and assisting them for fire-inspection as well as beginning an IFC wide capital campaign to aid in
future house renovations.
Information Technology: Responsible for maintaining IFC computer system and website. Offers aid to
individual chapters with their websites. Will continue to improve and expand the new IFC website and will
update frequently to include content that will be helpful to chapter presidents, directors, IFC executive
board, and prospective members.
Intramurals: Responsible for maintaining IFC intramural records and President’s Cup standings. Acts as
a liaison between Department of Recreational Sports and IFC. Works with director of Special Projects to
help plan and organize different all-star games.
Public Relations: Improve image of IFC and Greek community to students, faculty, and the Gainesville
community at large. Work as a liaison between media outlets (such as newspapers) and individual chapters
for every philanthropic and service event. Consistently publish an IFC newsletter that highlights individual
and chapter success throughout the Greek community.
Scholarship: Responsible for maintaining academic records of all IFC chapters. Actively search and
distribute scholarship resources to IFC men. Responsible for scheduling and proctoring IFC Study Hours.
Continue to maintain IFC-Tutoring Zone initiative as well as new-member GPA policy.
Service Director: Responsible for actively involving IFC in community service to city of Gainesville and
Alachua County. Other responsibilities include the IFC sponsored 34th Street Wall Memorial upkeep, IFC
participation in University service events, and continuation of ongoing service programs. Works with PC,
MGC, NPHC student government, and local and national service organizations to maximize Greek
participation in Greek Service Day and other service projects. Develop new IFC philanthropic events.
Special Projects: Works with the University Athletic Association, University Alumni Association,
GatorNights staff, and SG Cabinet to organize the Orange and Blue Rally in the Spring. Works closely
with the intramural director to help plan All-Star athletic games. Also works with PC, NPHC, and MGC to
organize the Greek Awards Banquet in the fall.
Note: All directors will be required to attend Wednesday IFC meetings held every two
weeks throughout the semester.

Assistant Vice Presidents of Membership
The following positions will work closely with the Vice President of Membership on different aspects of
recruitment.
AVPM Logistics: This position will be responsible for planning and programming tasks during summer
and recruitment week. These tasks include Preview presentations, summer events and the recruitment
week forum. The logistics AVPM will have the ability to start new events and programs that cater to new
members.
AVPM Publications/PR: The AVPM for publications and public relations will organize any printed
material sent to new members. This includes the summer mailer, advertisements and recruitment week
material. This assistant should be able to increase exposure of IFC to new members by various means such
as a branding campaign or scholarship program.
AVPM Sponsorships: This position is primarily responsible for the IFC banners and coordinating their
creation and disbursement. There are many sponsorship opportunities for future IFC events including food
sponsors during recruitment week, summer events and the kickoff forum.
AVPM New Member Relations: This position will take care of any new member question or problem
over summer and during recruitment week. They will be responsible for tracking new members over
summer and following up with them after preview sessions. The New Member Relations VPM should
track new members into IFC and report the outcomes after recruitment week through a registration system.
Assistant Vice Presidents of Finance
Two assistant Vice Presidents of Finance will be chosen to help the Vice President of Finance with various
tasks. The VP of Finance of the Interfraternity Council is responsible for handling all financial aspects of
the Council. This includes levying dues, handling all accounts payable and receivable, creating and
releasing a semester budget, and keeping the Council financially solvent.
