Job Purpose of Job: To work with the executive team to develop the work of the IFC with particular responsibility for the management of the Leadership Programme and Alumni engagement. Key Accountabilities: 1. To work with the Chief Executive and the IFC Deputy Director on the formulation of strategy for the development of the Institute for Faith and Culture 2. To be involved in the planning and development of the IFC Lecture and Seminar Programme 3. To arrange the Induction, the Friday Education Programme and Study Weekends as directed by the IFC Director to ensure that all plans are finalised at least a term in advance 4. To oversee and administer the recruitment of prospective graduates and participate in the selection process 5. To chair and set the tone for the Friday Educational days and Study Weekends including leading lectures within areas of expertise 6. To develop and maintain relationships with key contributors to the Leadership Programme 7. To develop and implement a strategy for engagement with the Alumni including the coordination of the Alumni events. 8. To coordinate arrangements for IFC Annual Lectures and Seminars. 9. To occasionally write for the IFC 10. Any other reasonably related tasks Associate Director of The Institute for Faith and Culture - Person Specification Requirements of the job Knowledge Essential: Education to degree level An awareness of current public affairs Good knowledge of contemporary mainstream Christian thinking Familiarity with CARE and its ethos Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Skills Essential: Excellent communication skills An ability to think strategically An ability to carefully prioritise complex competing tasks An ability to exercise a determined approach to drive projects to timely completion An ability to speak and represent the IFC as necessary and appropriate An ability to plan ahead for medium and long term priorities Desirable: Lecturing experience Mentoring experience An ability and experience of research and writing Disposition Essential: Flexible and capable of multi-tasking Able to communicate and work well with a wide variety of people A flexible attitude which demonstrates both commitment to team working and to working unsupervised when required Inspired by the work of CARE, supportive of and in full agreement with CARE’s Statement of Faith Willingness to take part in and lead spiritual activity such as contribution to Bible study and staff prayers Willingness to help, when necessary, with practical tasks outside the normal duties Associate Director of The Institute for Faith and Culture – Terms and Conditions Terms and Conditions Contract Type Permanent Hours 35 hours per week Holidays Annual leave entitlement for full time staff is 22 working days per calendar year, rising to 25 days after 2 full calendar years’ service. In addition you are entitled to all public and bank holidays and, since all CARE offices will be closed between Christmas and New Year, no holiday allocation need be used for that period. Non-contributory pension scheme Permanent staff and staff on Fixed Term Contracts longer than 12 months will receive an employer pension contribution worth 10% of their annual salary on completion of their probationary period.
