Iowa Public Television (IPTV) is seeking qualified applicants for Producer/Director. With a major focus on early childhood education, distance learning and local programming and a national reputation for excellence, IPTV is one of public television’s most-watched statewide networks. The Communications producer/director will plan, execute and prepare content for Iowa Public Television’s broadcast channels and for the web. The producer/director will serve as producer, director, writer and editor for content ranging from 10 seconds to 30 minutes in length. The individual will work with members of the viewing public, high-level management and other talent to create video pieces that meet or exceed IPTV’s broadcast standards. Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with major coursework in: broadcast journalism; mass communications; film; or commercial art and graphics (which included broadcast graphics) and three years of full-time professional level experience in broadcast design, commercial or television production. The positions require travel in and out of Iowa. Applicant must be willing to work a varied schedule, including nights and weekends. The producer/director will work within our Communications unit.
