Gale Virtual Reference Library (GVRL)
GVRL, voted Library Journal’s Best Overall Database for 2012, is a collection of virtual reference books in
topics ranging from arts to technology. LIRN’s GVRL collection includes over 2,045 titles. Students can
view, print, download, translate and listen to audio of chapters. Faculty can bookmark and link chapters on
learning management system course pages.
Academic OneFile
The premier resource for peer-reviewed, full text journals and reference sources, Academic OneFile is a
2009 and 2008 CODiE Award Finalist for Best Online General Reference Service.

IRABAS
eLibrary
The eLibrary provides access to full text articles and transcripts from more than 2,492 magazines,
newspapers, books, radio/TV program transcripts, along with access to more than 250,000+ photographs
and maps and over 20,000 unique educational audio/video resources. It also contains the complete works
of Shakespeare, other classic full text literature resources and a Reference Desk with dictionaries, a
thesaurus, encyclopedias and more.
Bowker’s Books in Print
Books in Print provides librarians with bibliographic information on all books in publication (not the content
of the books themselves). This resource can help schools make selections to build their print collections.
RCLweb (Resources for College Libraries)*
RCLweb provides core lists for academic libraries in multiple academic subject areas. The list of
recommended titles includes electronic resources and essential web sites as well as books. Audience level
markers indicate whether a title is most appropriate for lower-division undergraduate, upper-division
undergraduate, faculty or general readership. RCLweb contains a powerful search engine able to search a
variety of criteria. Members will be able to create their own lists appropriate to their programs. RCL alerts
offers notification e-mails when a new title of interest is added to the database.
*Members may purchase Bowker’s Book Analysis System, with a LIRN discount. Rather than doing a title
by title look up, this system allows libraries to upload their MARC records and compare their collection

ProQuest Health & Medical Complete provides full text coverage for over 1,660 publications and, with 900 that
include MEDLINE indexing. Journals cover all major clinical and healthcare disciplines, including medical
sciences, immunology, pharmacy and pharmacology, nursing, physical fitness and hygiene, surgery, and often
include charts, diagrams, graphs, tables, photos, and other graphical elements.
ProQuest Nursing and Allied Health Source
