The Certificate in Film and Television Finance (CIFTF) is a four-day
curriculum-based training program to help current and future entertainment
finance professionals learn in-depth critical analysis and evaluation skills
for transacting successful financing deals within the motion picture and
television industries. The program will be instructed by both Pepperdine
faculty members and entertainment industry experts.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
• Fundamentals of finance applied to film and television deals.
• Commonly used contractual agreements.
• Government sources of funding: international co-production, grants, tax
incentives, and soft money.
• Equity sources of funding: private equity, hedge funds, limited
partnerships, IRC Section 181, Slate Financing Arrangements (SFA).
• Risk management: insurance, bonding and currency hedging.
