The Individual Ideally the successful candidate will possess the following education, experience, and personal characteristics: Education A Bachelor’s degree combined with, at minimum, an LL.B or JD. Completion of the CICA In-Depth Tax Program or Tax Law for Lawyers program or the desire to complete such program is required. An MTax is considered an asset. Experience A depth of experience in a legal Canadian tax advisory capacity,with Canada/US cross border taxation experience an asset; An excellent understanding of Canadian tax law principles; A record of staying thoroughly up-to-date on new legislation and related profession knowledge; Outstanding project management skills demonstrated through effective and efficient project execution, with an emphasis on excellence; A reputation for being highly service oriented; Excellent client relationship building skills; Someone who has exhibited a high degree of discretion in the past and can be a trusted individual; Ability to write technical memos, after completing exhaustive research in a logical format; and, Proven ability to create clear, concise reports and presentations.
