Define Computer Data Acquisition and Analysis (CDAA) and explain value proposition
Identify opportunities for performing CDAA
Plan for using CDAA techniques
Understand basic terminology associated with the CDAA process
Provide hands on practice with ACL to perform a variety of commands and analyze data
The course is approximately 15 hours in length and conducted over 2 days. It is constructed around
a series of instructor-led “tours” in ACL, each of which is followed by a participant activity. The
course culminates in a comprehensive case study activity during which participants have an
opportunity to practice all skills delivered during the course. The course outline is as follows:
Day 1:
• CDAA overview and examples of data analysis
• The Data Analysis Process:
o Planning and Data Request
o Data Acquisition and Data Load
o Validation and Profiling
• Basics of ACL
• Hands On Learning of ACL Commands
Day 2:
• Hands On Learning of ACL Commands (continued)
• Data Conversion from Excel and Access
• Comprehensive ACL Case Study
• Critical Documentation and Best Practices
• Questions and Wrap Up
