projects on campus to allow for the teaching and housing of our students in
well designed and constructed buildings such as; Classroom II and Academic
Villages II.
Become More Inclusive and Diverse
Facilities Planning and Construction (FP&C) is in the planning and design stages
for the construction of a Global UCF building which will support a program to
attract and educate international students.
Facilities Planning and Construction (FP&C) includes small and minority owned
business and contractors in the procurement of construction services.
Other Accomplishments of the Department
Facilities Planning and Construction (FP&C) is in the final stages of completing
the 2015 Campus Master Plan Update which involves public hearings over the
next few months, to present the plan to the campus and public and to address
any comments.
Cost Effectiveness
Facilities Planning and Construction (FP&C) has been recently reorganized to
better manage projects and allow for delivery at lower costs through active
project management and utilization of the appropriate project delivery method
for the project.
Facilities Planning and Construction (FP&C) supports the improvements of the
campus infrastructure by providing renovation of building space to improve the
building supporting student teaching.
Over the past years the department has managed the current project work
load of 300-400 projects on a spreadsheet. This method has not allowed the
capturing of data needed to manage the volume of work or for better planning
and cost modeling. The department has purchased an additional module that
integrates with the existing facility operations work order maintenance system.
This system will allow the capture of much more project details and information
to better manage the projects.
