Mr. Steve McKee Founder & President Labtech International Limited, Batam, Indonesia Mr. McKee is President and founder of Labtech International Ltd., which he created to meet the needs of technology training in developing nations. Labtech, since it was founded 25 years ago, has grown to be one of the largest technical education companies in Asia and is renowned for its educational innovation and has clients in thousands of schools in over 70 countries. He is on the governing executive council of World Didac which is the premier international educational manufacture’s association, and has contact with many educational organizations throughout the world and is recognized as expert on international educational development. He has been involved in International educational development continuously since 1974. He started his career by working on some of the first International educational development projects funded by the World Bank in Africa, Asia and Latin America. His career has included extensive consultant work, educational planning and development, Development project implementation, educational marketing, educational system design, technical course design, international business development, international finance and educational technology development. He also has Practical Skills in a variety of technical subjects such on Computers, Electronics Systems, Electrical Systems, Automotive Technology, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology, Construction, Wood Working and Metal Working. He has been based full time in Asia since 1984 and is extremely familiar with all phases of education within most of the Asian Region as well as the Middle East. He has a passion for education and is often called upon to give speeches and presentations at seminars on a wide range of topics concerning education and development. One of his prime interests over the past decade concerns the transformation of the education system by using ICT in education for instructional learning purposes. Many countries have been struggling with issues on how to update their educational delivery systems for the 21st century including the infrastructure, Infostructure and infoculture. He believes that a broad based balanced approach that addresses the main issues of teaching technologies, teacher development and student centric programs can contribute to the impact and success in this area.
