School of Accountancy Brigham Young University Master of Accountancy Degree The Master of Accountancy (MAcc) degree at BYU is a three-year integrated program designed to begin in the junior year with the integrated accounting core referred to as the Jr. Core. As it is an integrated program, approximately 97% of the students admitted to the MAcc program have completed our Jr. Core. However, students with bachelor’s degrees in accounting, business, or other disciplines may apply for the MAcc degree program. The criteria used for admission are: (1) completion of the prerequisites and Jr. Core equivalents which are listed below, (2) the last 60-hour GPA (including all accounting courses) must be a minimum 3.0, although our average is about 3.70, and (3) the GMAT (our average is between 630-680). The exam may be retaken without penalty—i.e., we do not average the scores, but use the highest.
