RACE & POINTS FORMAT-Night 1-Saturday-March 5th, 2016
1.30pm-Competitors Gate Open
4.00pm-Drivers & Crew Chiefs Meeting-In Pit Area, near brick office
4.30pm-Engine Starts & Wheel packing-Then form up on infield in seeded group order
5.15pm-Hot Laps/Time Trials
5.15pm-HEATLEYS SAFETY & INDUSTRIAL TIME TRIAL
• This will be done via transponder timing. The transponder will be issued on pit entry or
at drivers briefing.
• Cars are to assemble on the infield before track packing.
• Drivers will time trial groups of up to 5 cars for 3 laps each
• Drivers will be seeded into groups, before the event. At the drivers briefing on the day
groups will be decided via marble draw for time trial order.
• Cars are to assemble on the infield before track packing.
• Cars MUST Time Trial in order of marble draw. If a car is unable to take its correct place
in the order, they may have 1 lap at the end of time trials. The lap must commence
within 2 minutes of the final car completing its lap. Regardless of their time they will
not be placed higher than 15th.
• All cars will be given only one attempt to qualify in their allotted time trial spot. Once
a car is pushed off, even if it does not start, this is considered an attempt to qualify.
• After starting, if a car does not then complete a timed lap, they will be given 1 lap at
the end of time trials as above.
• If a car sets a lap time in time trials but then causes a stoppage, they are to go infield
and will not be able to complete a 2nd or 3rd lap. Their first lap time will stand.
• If there is a tie in qualifying, the second best lap time of those drivers will be used.
2. Cars must remain assembled on the infield during all group time trials.
3. All cars MUST go directly to the scales after Time Trials, failure to do will result in
disqualification from Time Trials and loss of all points up until that point in the race meeting,
and start Rear of Field for all heats. KBS officials will advise any changes to this.
4. Car and Driver qualify as a Team. Each driver can qualify only one car.
5. If a driver has qualified their nominated car for the heat races, but cannot start the heat
races in this same car, then they can substitute cars, but must start rear and will lose all
qualifying points.

a) Open Red or b) Closed Red.
a) Open Red – if the Chief Steward declares the red light stoppage to be “Open Red”, all
cars may be worked on within the designated work area on the infield. Once all cars are in
this area, crews can enter the track to work on their car. Once the yellow light is displayed,
the warning signal will sound, giving crews 2 minutes to be clear of the car. Once the 2
minutes has expired a final warning will sound. If a car is worked on or is not ready to be
pushed off after this time, the car will start ROF if they make the restart. Cars worked on
outside of the designated area may be disqualified.
b) A “Closed Red” does not allow the driver or any crew to work on the car during the
stoppage (but an official may do so due to safety reasons only). If a driver or crew works on
the car, they will be disqualified.
2. During the driver’s briefing, the Chief Steward will advise the procedure for weight
confirmation at the end of every race heat. In addition, the Chief Steward may also advise
specific car numbers at the end of each heat to attend the scales for weight confirmation.
Any driver who does not attend the scales when required/directed will be disqualified from
the race.
3. When a race is deemed to be a dead heat (ie: Chief Steward cannot decide between 2
or more cars at the line) the points for the positions shall be added together and then
divided between the respective drivers. Transponder results shall be final.
4. Preliminary A-Main event ( Saturday ) will start with a 20-car field unless otherwise advised.
The feature event ( Sunday ) will start with up to 24 cars.
5. Feature Presentation laps will be either 3 or 4 cars wide as directed by KBS officials on the
night. These will commence when a direction by the chief steward or race director is advised
to you and will be completed when the 1 lap signal is shown by the Race Director. If a car
stops due to an accident during the presentation laps they will be allowed to restart in their
original position. All instructions will be given to drivers through their Raceivers.
