Their first lap time will stand. • If there is a tie in qualifying, the second best lap time of those drivers will be used. 2. This will be awarded after the grand final. GENERAL 1. If a driver substitutes their car for a feature race, they will start ROF. 2. Cars must be in a race worthy condition to start in all events. 3. As per the Speedway Australia Racing Rules & Regulations, Sprintcars are permitted to place only the left front wheel over/below the pole line. A breach of this rule may lead to a 2 position penalty at either the next stoppage or will be applied to the results at the completion of the race. 4. The Pace Car will set the pace and this pace is to be maintained through turns 3 & 4 by the front two cars until the light turns to green. No cars are to accelerate until the green light is shown. The Speedway Australia Racing Rules & Regulations will apply for any driver who breaks the start. If a car is deemed to have jumped the start twice, the car/s will be put back to the rear of the field. Baulking is considered jumping. RACE STOPPAGES 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. The primary cause rule will not be enforced. However, if it is deemed a driver has caused a stoppage through reckless or negligent driving (determined by the Chief Steward), then they will be either penalised by disqualification or sent to the Rear of Field on the restart. If any car has started and becomes stationery (requiring a restart), they will go rear of field as per the Speedway Australia Racing Rules & Regulations. If a car requires a second restart during the race they will also be sent rear of field. However if a car requires a third restart during a race they will be sent infield. (DNF points will still apply). On a restart, lapped cars are to take their positions as per the last completed lap in order of placing behind those cars on the current lap. On either a yellow or red light stoppage, any car with a flat tyre, except LHF, will receive the mechanical defect flag. RED LIGHT STOPPAGES 1. It will be at the discretion of the Chief Steward whether a Red Light will be deemed to be a) Open Red or b) Closed Red. a) Open Red – if the Chief Steward declares the red light stoppage to be “Open Red”, all cars may be worked on within the designated work area on the infield. Once all cars are in this area, crews can enter the track to work on their car. Once the yellow light is displayed, the warning signal will sound, giving crews 2 minutes to be clear of the car. Once the 2 minutes has expired a final warning will sound. If a car is worked on or is not ready to be pushed off after this time, the car will start ROF if they make the restart. Cars worked on outside of the designated area may be disqualified. b) A “Closed Red” does not allow the driver or any crew to work on the car during the stoppage (but an official may do so due to safety reasons only). If a driver or crew works on the car, they will be disqualified. 2. During the driver’s briefing, the Chief Steward will advise the procedure for weight confirmation at the end of every race heat. In addition, the Chief Steward may also advise specific car numbers at the end of each heat to attend the scales for weight confirmation. Any driver who does not attend the scales when required/directed will be disqualified from the race. 3. When a race is deemed to be a dead heat (ie: Chief Steward cannot decide between 2 or more cars at the line) the points for the positions shall be added together and then divided between the respective drivers. Transponder results shall be final. 4. Preliminary A-Main event ( Saturday ) will start with a 20-car field unless otherwise advised. The feature event ( Sunday ) will start with up to 24 cars. 5. Feature Presentation laps will be either 3 or 4 cars wide as directed by KBS officials on the night. These will commence when a direction by the chief steward or race director is advised to you and will be completed when the 1 lap signal is shown by the Race Director. If a car stops due to an accident during the presentation laps they will be allowed to restart in their original position. All instructions will be given to drivers through their Raceivers. POST RACING 1. The first 5 cars after the A-Main are to go directly to the scales for weight confirmation. Failure to go directly to scales will result in disqualification from the race. 2. Officials may require the first 4 cars after the A Main to remove their MSD Ignition system for inspection for Traction Control. This may entail an independent examination of the unit. Failure to allow officials to inspect the MSD ignition will result in disqualification from the race. 3. Any vehicle found to have Traction Control fitted to the vehicle will be disqualified from the race meeting and will forfeit all points and prize money from the meeting. This may also result in an infringement from the Chief Steward as per the Speedway Australia Racing Rules & Regulations. 4. Drivers who approach officials to protest and/or argue a point and/or act in an aggressive manner towards officials will be subject to the Speedway Australia Racing Rules & Regulations. 5. Drivers who do not stop in the Hot Zone when entering the pits under power may be subject to a $100 fine. 6. Quad bike riders who do not wear a compliant AS1698 helmet or fail to fasten the helmet straps may subject their team to a $100 fine.
