Published posthumously in
1964, A Moveable Feast remains one
of Ernest Hemingway's most
beloved works. A classic memoir
of Paris in the 1920s, filled with
portraits of others such as F. Scott
Fitzgerald and Gertrude Stein;
and insightful recollections of his
own early experiments with his
craft. It brilliantly evokes the
exuberant mood of Paris post war,
the youthful spirit, unbridled
creativity, and unquenchable
enthusiasm that Hemingway
himself epitomized.

The Friends would like to thank everyone who came out
and supported our Summer Book Sale. We raised $535 that
will enable us to continue to provide activity funding both
for children and adults and to purchase materials for the
Library. Thank you to all of our volunteers, including the
Lakeville Lions, who helped set up and break down the
sale.

You may have noticed we set up for the sale a little
differently this time. This arrangement, utilizing the
hallway and book sale room as well as the gallery, allowed
us to spread the books out, giving you more room to
browse. If you have any ideas for improving our book sales
we would like to hear from you. You can e-mail us at our
