Process Requirements
Process Key Factors
Curriculum processes should include:
1. Collecting stakeholder input to develop the highest quality educational programming for students.
2. Utilizing emerging research to embed cutting edge best practices.
3. Establishing curriculum vision to clarify the direction of each program including program evaluation to
guarantee quality.
4. Evaluating resources including time, materials and collaborative opportunities for successful
implementation/improvements.
5. Ensuring access and equity for all students.
Process Guiding Principles
Teams should consider the following principles to guide their curriculum work:
1. High quality, rigorous curriculum provides opportunities for student to interact, for real-world
application, and includes diverse perspectives
2. Teaching and learning activities should be authentic and meaningful
3. All curriculum should imbed reading and writing, as these are the foundational skills for student
success
4. Students should be engaged and challenged
5. Assessments must be aligned to the standards and provide both formative and summative feedback.
