Fallen Angels
Directions: You are going to create a literary portfolio for Fallen Angels. I am giving you
this information now, so that you can work on this project throughout the time we are
reading the book. EVERYTHING MUST BE TYPED.
Your portfolio will contain the following:
Front cover:
1. Artistic representation of the book, and it must include title and author.
(15 pts)
Inside pages:
2. Table of contents. (10 pts)
3. A general summary of the book that doesn’t give away the entire plot. Encourage
others to read the book. Minimum length is one-half page. (15 pts)
4. A 6-8 sentence paragraph describing the main characters. These include Richie
Perry, Peewee, and another of your choice. Consider their personality traits. Total
length: three paragraphs minimum. (15 pts)
5. Six quotes from the book that are especially important to the advancement of the
novel. Write the quote, include page number of quote, tell who said it, and then in two
to three sentences tell why the quote is important. (35 points)
6. A diary entry from the point of view of Richie Perry telling about the war. One-half
page minimum. (15 points)
7. Write (copy) the lyrics to a song that details a theme of Fallen Angels. After writing
the lyrics, write a 4-6 sentence paragraph explaining why the song you have chosen
reflects a theme of the novel and tell which theme it reflects. Clean lyrics only! (20 pts)
8. Artistic and/or creative details that make the inside appealing. (5 pts)
9. Vocabulary packets

12. Letters to and from Vietnam
13. Study guide questions by chapter
14. Strategic Reading Packet
Back page:
15. One quote by you, telling why others should read this book. Minimum of three
sentences. (5 pts)
16. Your name and hour. (5 pts) Do not put your name anywhere else in the book
except this very last page.

Note:
Your completed portfolio will be turned in at the end of the unit. It will contain all
the work you have done throughout the unit. All pieces to be included in the portfolio are
shown above. Any item without a points value next to it will have been graded outside the
portfolio, yet is worth 10 additional points when turned in as part of the end portfolio.
