magma an how it influences
volcanic activity.
I can describe the three major types of
volcanoes and the magma associated with each.
Students will watch a video about volcanoes and complete a video
guide.
Students will complete drawings of each of the three types of
volcanoes. The drawings will include characteristics, type of
magma and type of eruption for the three major types of
volcanoes.

Lesson Topic: Volcanoes
I can research volcanoes for a research paper.
Students will take notes and discuss the formation of volcanoes.
Students will complete an activity mapping both volcanoes and
earthquakes using a world map and data given in table form.
Use the internet and the computer lab to collect research for a
paper on a volcano.
