River Fieldwork
Your aim is to produce an investigation based on the field work that you are doing at the river Holford.
Before you go…
 Get into a group of 4-6
 Come up with 4 Hypotheses (things you think
will happen)
 Design 4 methods to test your hypotheses. This
could include diagrams.
 Design a way of collecting the results e.g. a table
On the day…

Milestone 3
 Collect and analyse statistics and other information in
order to draw clear conclusions about locations.
 Use a range of geographical resources to give detailed
descriptions and opinions of the characteristic features of
a location.
 Use different types of fieldwork sampling (random and
systematic) to observe, measure and record the human
and physical features in the local area. Record the results in a range of ways.
 Describe and explain key aspects of rivers and the water cycle.

 Plan and investigate a geographical study of a place including fieldwork to collect, analyse and draw conclusions from
geographical data, using multiple sources of information.
 Describe in detail and then explain the physical geography relating to weathering rivers and coasts.
 Draw graphs, charts, maps and diagrams to support written descriptions and explanations
 Analyse, and interpret different data sources.
