“Me Book”
Psychology, the study of human thought and behavior, is designed to be an interactive
course. Students are often given the opportunity to relate course concepts to their own
personal lives through self-reflection. As a final project for Psychology, students will be
required to reflect about themselves, their study of Psychology, and their experiences,
showcasing themselves, as individuals, in a self-created “Me Book.”
Assignment:
Create a book reflecting your study of Psychology, as well as your own personal experiences,
interests, personality traits, and who you are.
Contents:
1. Cover Page: (10 points)
Create a cover page for your “Me Book.” Include your name, and a picture of yourself. You
may use a variety of materials (pictures/images, construction paper, cloth, fabric, and/or
other art materials) to creatively reflect who you are.
2. Autobiography: (30 points)
Include a typed 1-2 pg. autobiography. Use the following questions to guide your writing:
A. Who am I? (Describe yourself)
B. How would my parents describe me?
C. How would my friends describe me?
D. How would my teachers/employers describe me?
E. What are some of my best qualities/characteristics?
F. What is something I would like to improve about myself?
G. What are my favorite hobbies/activities/interests?
H. What are my goals for the future (college, employment, life)?
I. What is one thing that I would like to change most about the world around me?
3. “Me” Insert Pages: (30 points)
You will also receive a series of (5) “Me” Insert Pages, which connect your “Me Books” to
topics discussed in class. These completed insert pages should be included in your “Me
Book.” You may choose to write your responses directly on the “Me” Insert Pages, type
them, or integrate them into your project in another way.
4. Psychological Research: (60 points)
Choose one of the following psychologists who we have studied in class. Research their
work, and summarize and react to their findings in a 2-3 pg. paper. You may choose to
research a well-known psychologist not on this list, with teacher approval.

 Jean Piaget
 John B. Watson
 Erik Erikson
 B.F. Skinner
 Abraham Maslow
 Albert Bandura
In your paper, be sure to include the following:
 Description of Psychologist/Research:
o Who did you choose to research?
o Provide biographical information about the psychologist you chose to study.
o What type of psychology did they study?
 To what school of psychological thought did they subscribe?
 What eras of the lifespan did they research? What aspects of
thought and behavior did they examine?
o
o
 When/where did their research take place?
What types of research methods did they employ in studying human
behavior?
What were their theories/conclusions about psychology and the human
experience?

Reaction/Connection to “Me” Book:
o Why did you choose to study this psychologist?
o To what extent do you agree/disagree with this psychologist’s findings?
o What aspects of their findings can you apply to your life experiences of
infancy, childhood, adolescence, young adulthood? What aspects can you
apply to others’ life experiences?

Conclusion/Future Implications:
o What value did this psychologist’s research add to the field of Psychology?
o How can their findings be applied in everyday life?

Citation of Sources:
o You must use a minimum of 2 sources.
o Sources must be cited in a References Page.


o Length: 2-3 pgs.
o Format: American Psychological Association (APA)
o Font Style: Arial/Times New Roman
o Font Size: 12 point
o Line Spacing: 1.5/2.0

Your paper should be included within your “Me Book”
5. Original Quote: (5 points)
Create an original quote, displaying your philosophical view on life.
6. Song Lyrics: (5 points)
Include song lyrics to which you can most relate, as an individual.
7. Pictures: (10 points)
Include pictures (or photocopies) of yourself throughout life (childhood, adolescence). You
may also include pictures of family, friends, personal milestones, favorite celebrities, places
to which you have traveled, etc.
 If you have trouble accessing baby pictures, etc. be sure to let me know in advance.
Grading:


All work will be graded on content, completion, creativity, organization, and neatness.
“Me Book” will be worth 150 points (1.5 Test Scores).
Presentation:
Students will present their “Me Books” to the class, after they have been graded and returned
(tentatively the week before course final exam).
Due: (T) 1/12/16


Lateness:
If projects are late:
o 10% will be deducted for every day late
o Projects will not be accepted after (F) 1/15/16
