7400 Bay Road University Center, MI (INSERT DATE) Mr. Thomas Berkinah Bureau of Prisons Federal Prison System 42 Patton Rd. Fort Devens, MA 01434 Dear Mr. Berkinah, Thank you for taking the time to review my documents for the Clinical Psychologist position through the Federal Prison System in Fort Devens, MA. I learned of this opportunity through the USAJOBS database online, July 24th, 2014. Utilizing my skills obtained through the Clinical Psychology Doctoral program at the University of Michigan, I believe I will succeed in a position that requires advance scientific research in all aspects of clinical psychology including; education, assessment, treatment, prevention and understanding of psychopathology and neurodevelopmental disorders. During my time as a Psycho Educational Counselor with Saginaw Psychological Services, I developed individual educational program for students at different learning ability levels. I established classes for parenting skills, independent living skills, anger management, behavior management, substance abuse and pride training. This further advanced my ability to recognize the importance of social, economic and environmental factors in the development and resolution of personal and family problems. My educational background in clinical psychology has driven my passion to asses and identify client and family needs as well as plan, coordinate, provide and reevaluate the necessary services and treatment. I feel comfortable with the responsibility for maintaining security of the institution and I look forward to joining the Federal Prison Systems staff force as the Clinical Psychologist. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. I would like to schedule a personal interview at your earliest convenience. Please contact me at 989.964.4954 or at careers@svsu.edu.
