Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health (C&A), located in Canton, Ohio, is a full service, non-profit, trauma-informed mental health organization specializing in the emotional and behavioral needs of children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. Position Available: Child Psychologist Job Duties/Description: Conduct psychological evaluations for children and adolescents with a broad array of concerns, including those with a history of trauma, significant psychopathology, and/or developmental concerns. Serve as a member of C&A’s APA-Accredited Psychology Doctoral Intern Program faculty. Provide supervision for non-licensed psychology personnel as needed. Work with the courts, including conducting competency evaluations for youth as requested. Other duties related to service provision as assigned, including, but not limited to, timely and accurate submission of reports, meeting assigned productivity expectations, and attendance at required meetings and trainings. Skills and Experience: Experience/skill in conceptualizing, assessing, diagnosing, and making recommendations for youth. Ability to engage a wide range of children, adolescents and parents, including those from diverse populations. Ability to work effectively with other professionals both within and outside the mental health profession. Experience/knowledge of, or willingness to obtain knowledge of applicable modalities and interventions, including, but not limited to, evidenced-based /evidenced-informed practices, in order to make appropriate recommendations for interventions. Strong background in “trauma-informed” work with clients. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to function well as a team member. Must be culturally competent and willing to work with clients and families within various and diverse populations. Proficiency in tests of ability, achievement, communication, objective and/or projective personality measures, and adaptive functioning. Experience in collaborating with outside agencies, including the court, schools, and physicians. Qualifications: PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (or relevant specialty area of psychology). Licensed in the state of Ohio as a Psychologist or eligible for licensure as a Psychologist in the state of Ohio. Early career psychologists are encouraged to apply.
