Job Title: Senior Head of Marketing & Communications Reporting to: Deputy Chief Executive & Communications Director Contract: 6 months interim Hours: Full time Salary: £50,000 per annum We are looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial senior marketing manager passionate about helping take Media Trust to the next stage of its impact and reach across the charity and media sectors. Job description You will inspire and lead our communications team, working across marketing, pr, digital, broadcast TV and campaigns. You will have a strong track record and experience in a senior marketing role and proven experience in achieving business growth through strategic marketing. Your indepth understanding of the digital media, marketing and PR mix will be vital, alongside a willingness to get involved in the ‘doing’, particularly in sorting out our CRM! Reporting to and working closely with our Deputy Chief Executive, you will be responsible for managing B2B and B2C marketing and communications across the Media Trust and Community Channel brands. You will provide leadership across the organisation to raise the profile and visibility of Media Trust and Community Channel and effectively target our services to the charity sector, media industry and general public. Key responsibilities Lead and deliver on the marketing, PR and digital media activity for Media Trust and Community Channel Translate the marketing and communications strategy into an effective and efficient tactical activity plan that sees results Support and enhance our Community Channel ‘Do Something Brilliant’ campaign Create and manage marketing partnerships with organisations from across the media industry and voluntary sector Plan, manage and coordinate all marketing activities, including; production of materials, DM, EDM, digital and social media marketing, promotional partnerships and campaign management Work closely with the fundraising team to engage and retain corporate, charitable and individual donors and funders, including through a range of fundraising events Support the business development team to win and retain contracts and membership contributions Help secure sponsorship for areas such as our ‘Do Something Brilliant’ campaign and our bi-annual conferences Lead and oversee customer journey and data management across the organisation including our CRM system Lead on market segmentation and segmented marketing plans for key audiences Where appropriate, lead and manage projects that relate to market research and use audience insight to inform our marketing strategies and tactics Lead the design, production and distribution of the Annual Review Monitor and evaluate the impact of our communications activity across the organisation Acting as ‘brand gatekeeper’, ensuring an integrated brand strategy Work with senior managers and HR to maximise effective internal communications Line manage a small team and work closely with related staff across the organisation Person specification Minimum of four years senior marketing experience Confident tactical and strategic decision maker with the ability to devise and implement marketing and communications strategies Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, alongside attention to detail, analysis and focus Proven experience of managing PR, digital and marketing functions Proven experience of successful implementation, delivery and management of CRM systems Ability to understand, target and market to a range of audiences Exceptional digital media and online marketing experience Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, think laterally and meet deadlines Experience of establishing and managing strategic relationships/partnerships between organisations and/or individuals Track record of supporting income generation, including sales and sponsorship Budget management experience Experience of supporting national campaigns desirable Excellent organisational and coordination skills Experience of evaluating and monitoring marketing activity Initiative and confidence Good team player, ability to motivate and inspire others Good understanding of libel and copyright law A commitment to the aims and values of the Media Trust and the wider voluntary and community sector, as well as to promoting diversity and equality of opportunity across all your work The above job description is a guide to the work you may be required to undertake but does not form part of your contract of employment and may change from time to time to reflect changing circumstances.
