CITY OF CLERMONT JULY 6, 2015 The Clermont City Council met in regular session on July 6, 2015 at the Larrabee Building Room #4. Mayor James Matt called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Roll Call: Council members Ashby, Harris, Bishop, Wiedenhoff, and Lehmann were present. Bishop moved, Wiedenhoff seconded, to approve the agenda. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0. Lehmann moved, Ashby seconded, to approve the June 15, 2015 minutes. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0. Wiedenhoff moved, Bishop seconded, to approve the June 29, 2015 special session minutes. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0. Lehmann moved, Wiedenhoff seconded, to approve the disbursements. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0. Lehmann moved, Harris seconded, to approve the monthly budget. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0. Bishop moved, Harris seconded, to approve Joe & Dawn Daughton’s building permit. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0. Wiedenhoff moved, Bishop seconded, to approve the two building permits from Jason & Summer Klemp. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0. Wiedenhoff moved, Lehmann seconded, to approve Darrel Oltroggee’s building permit. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0. Wiedenhoff moved, Bishop seconded, to approve Roger Loftsgard’s building permit. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0. Lehmann moved, Wiedenhoff seconded, to approve Barbara Dennler’s building permit. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0. Harris moved, Wiedenhoff seconded, to approve Turkey River Saloon’s alcohol permit renewal. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0. CITY OF CLERMONT JULY 6, 2015 Lehmann moved, Wiedenhoff seconded, to accept Bunn Services, LLC garbage hauling bid of $6.00 per month per household pick up. The contract will be for a 3 year term. Lehmann moved, Harris seconded, to amend the motion to include furnishing a truck and labor for the City Wide Clean Up Day. Roll Call on the Amendment: Motion carried 50. The final motion will read: Lehmann moved, Wiedenhoff seconded, to accept Bunn Services, LLC garbage hauling bid of $6.00 per month per household pick up. The contract will be for a 3 year term and the contract will include furnishing a truck and labor for the City Wide Clean Up Day. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0. Ashby moved, Lehmann seconded, to reimburse the Historical Commission for one or two members to attend one conference each year. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0. Harris moved, Bishop seconded, to purchase a handicap accessible sign, put it up at the Opera House by the handicap ramp, and purchase the supplies necessary to paint the handicap accessible symbol on the pavement by the sign. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0. Wiedenhoff moved, Harris seconded, to consider Ordinance 2015-01 Vacation of Alley in Block 57 read and approve the first reading. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0. Ashby moved, Lehmann seconded, to table Turkey River Classic IX Request until the July 20, 2015 council meeting. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0. Ashby moved, Bishop seconded, to give the Fire Department permission to proceed with the loan for the Bunker Gear/Equipment and bring the details back to the July 20, 2015 council meeting. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0. Ashby moved, Wiedenhoff seconded, to approve Resolution 2015-22 Certify Utility Acct. # 27900, 34003, 34300, & 41702 to Property Taxes. Roll Call: Motion carried 5-0. Citizen Comments: Quinton Olson presented a certificate to the City on behalf of the American Legion Post 375 recognizing the City as a platinum donor for the All Veterans Memorial. Arline Davisson commented that the Opera House sign that use to be on the Opera House is not there and should be replaced. She noted that the handicap sign by the water fountain on Mill Street was missing and should be put back up. She asked the council about what to do with the yard waste in Clermont and the council explained that they were still trying to find a solution for the problem. Arline concluded with comments about the broken decorative brick on the Larrabee Building roof and the broken window in the Historical Museum on the top floor of the Larrabee Building. Lehmann moved, Harris seconded, to adjourn the meeting at 9:10 p.m. Motion carried 50.
