Dear Families and Friends of St. Paul Lutheran Church,
Vacation Bible School is just around the corner! VBS at St. Paul Lutheran Church will be held
Sunday, June 27-Thursday, July 1, 2010. Our theme is “Boabab Blast: God’s Great GetTogether”. We’ll gather around the gigantic baobab tree of Africa to hear God’s word and celebrate!
Five special wildlife critters will guide us through the week: Faye the Zebra, Amy the Monkey, Bud
the Elephant, Sam the Meerkat, and Jonathan the Giraffe. We will participate in Kalahari Crafts,
Madagascar Music, Savannah Storytelling, Grassland Games, and Desert Drama & Dance.
*Sunday, June 27: A VBS Family Picnic beginning at 3:30 will kick off our exciting week. The
picnic is open to all VBS families and congregational members. The VBS theme will be introduced,
and kids will participate in fun activities & games. Please bring in a plain white or pastel T-shirt for
your child and have him or her dress accordingly for painting! For the picnic, the VBS crew will
provide hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks. We’re asking the each family bring a side dish, salad or
dessert. You may sign-up for the picnic in the Narthex or on the back of your registration form.
We have many exciting activities planned for the rest of the week, Monday-Thursday, from 9:00 a.m.
to 12:00 p.m., during the regular VBS period, and on certain days during the afternoon.
*Monday, June 28: After the morning VBS session, we will have a pizza party before watching an
exciting Magic Show.
*Tuesday, June 29: Kids will have fun during Water Day. Children should wear their bathing suits
during the 9-12 VBS session for water activities.
*Wednesday, June 30: After the morning VBS session, we will have a Safari lunch together then
take a trip to The Elms of Cranbury, a local nursing/assisted living facility, to sing our VBS songs.
*Thursday, July 1: The week will culminate with Family Night at 7:00 p.m., during which
children will present their crafts, sing, and perform drama/dance routines.
VBS is open to children who are 4 to 11 years of age. Those who have completed 5th grade or higher
are welcome to serve as Youth Helpers. Registration is now open for all St. Paul members and the
community. The non-refundable registration fee is $15.00 per child. Registration fees can be paid in
cash or by check payable to St. Paul Lutheran Church. The registration form and fee should be
submitted to the church office or to our Registrar, Tracey McCarthy. Extra forms may be downloaded
from the St. Paul website www.stpaulseastwindsor.org.
We need adults and youth to help with VBS. You do not need to attend every day to be a helper. The
registration fee is waived for youth helpers. Get involved because it’s a lot of fun! The success of the
program depends on everyone’s help, so please volunteer your time by completing the back of the
registration form and letting us know when you are available.
