Honors Biology – Materials Needed Supply List – If you already have these items at home, feel free to use those instead of buying new ones. - Pencils or black ink pens (No other ink colors permitted for class assignments) 3-ring notebook (2” or larger, may not be shared w/ other classes) Dividers with tabs for your notebook (you’ll need approximately 10) Sheet protectors for your notebook (you’ll need approximately 15) Loose leaf paper (No spiral notebooks permitted) One folder with pockets and brads (to be kept in classroom). Use a Sharpie to write your name and class period in the upper right corner of the cover. Graph paper (~20 sheets for the year, so one packet should be enough for math & biology) 3x5” Index cards Colored pencils Highlighter Scissors Glue stick Sharpie marker (not yellow or pastel colors) Jump/flash/thumb drive for saving computer work Supplies you MUST have access to at home: 1. Computer with internet access (also available at the public library) 2. Printer Supplemental Reading: Fall Semester: The Demon In The Freezer by Richard Preston (mass market paperback ISBN-10: 0345466632) - $6.00 ***I will be selling these books during the first two weeks of school (Aug. 10-21). If you choose not to purchase the book through the school by this deadline, you will be responsible for obtaining it on your own. All students will be responsible for completing weekly reading assignments and quizzes associated with the book. When you come to pay for the book, please bring cash or check for the exact amount. If you write a check, please be sure that the following is written somewhere on the check: student’s name and “For Honors Biology DITF”. I will collect book money each school day Aug. 10-21 in the morning from 8:05am until 8:25am and in the afternoon from 3:30pm until 3:45pm. The first DITF quiz will be Sept. 8, the Tuesday after Labor Day. After that, there will be one DITF quiz on the first day of every week for the following sixteen weeks. Spring Semester: ??? – There may be a second book that we read during Spring semester. If so, I will let students know about it (and the cost) closer to Christmas break.
