Text reading Students are to read (and study!) Chapters 1-4 in American History (Brinkley text) and be prepared for a comprehensive quiz on all four chapters on the first full day of school. This will be a 70-question multiple-choice quiz. II. Essay TOPIC: A HISTORICAL MYSTERY: WHAT HAPPENED AT ROANOKE? Colonization promotional literature. Early travelers' reports on America. John White's drawings of Native Americans. Accounts from the Roanoke Colony. Images of Sir Walter Raleigh and Queen Elizabeth. What does the selection present about the Roanoke Colony? What alternative theories of the disappearance of the colony can be proposed? Which do you think is most likely?
