EARLY RELEASE REQUEST

Early Release is a privilege that may be requested by seniors. The principal has
the final authority in granting this request based on the number of credits the student has
earned, the number of SOLs passed, the student’s attendance record, and the ability of the
school to arrange the student’s schedule. If granted Early Release, the student must
leave the school grounds no later than the tardy bell. Failure to leave the school grounds
before the tardy bell, for whatever reason, will result in the cancellation of the Early
Release privilege.
I request that my child, ___________________________, be allowed Early Release for
_____ periods for the 2014-15 school year. I understand that this request must be
approved by the principal and requires the following:
a) The student will have sufficient credits to graduate in June 2015
b) The will have passed all required SOLs for graduation
c) The student’s schedule can be arranged to allow for Early Release prior to the end
of the official school day
d) Transportation will be provided by the parent or student daily
e) The student will leave the school grounds no later than the tardy bell
