In 1672, a plantation on St. Thomas was granted to Elisabet Pinckston, and on her
death [13 August 16731], the plantation was sold on 22 August 1673 to Jellis Davidtsen
for 500 pounds of sugar, for which her husband, Marmeduck King, was given credit, and
on 16 June 1680, the plantation was deeded to Jellis Davidtsen.2

He was married to Eleonora, who was born on St. Croix in about 1780 and was
baptized in the Dutch Reformed Church.7
In 1846, they were free, living in his own property at 13 Little Hospital Street,
Christiansted, and he was a Carpenter by profession.8

employed as a Carpenter and a member of the Fire Corps.12

In October 1846, he was living with his daughter at estate Bog of Allen, Prince’s
Quarter, unmarried and employed as a Sadler, and a member of the Fire Corps.14

Mercilla/Missila15 King was born on St. Croix in about 1821 and was baptized in
the Anglican Church.16
She had a relationship with Joseph Plaskett, who was born in England in about
1798/1799,17 and was a member of the Anglican Church.18

In 1842, he was listed as a Carpenter at estate Two Friends.19
In October 1846, she was living with her presumed father, at estate Bog of Allen,
Prince’s Quarter.20
She was dead by 1848.
