Job Description – Senior Program Development Specialist Contract/Title: Independent Living Program Supervisor Reports to: Assistant Program Director, NRCYS and Independent Living Program Manager, DHS/CFSD Supervision of: Area Independent Living Specialists (7) Event Planner/Coordinator (1) Based at: Tulsa, OK Job purpose: To plan and carry out direct youth transition planning services and events statewide for young adults in out of home care, so as to maintain and increase the awareness and importance of early assessment, life skills development and transition planning. Provide specialized training and technical assistance to adults on policy, procedure and independent living best practice, in accordance with agreed upon contract between NRCYS and DHS/CFSD. Key responsibilities and accountabilities: Communicating current policy and procedure to Independent Living (IL) Specialists through individual and team meetings and scheduled trainings. Planning, organizing and financial budgeting of identified IL Events. o (12) Life Skill Seminars o (2) Teen Conferences for 175 o (1) Sibling Event for 75 o (1) Career Exploration/Education Event (Fun Fest) for 350-500 o (1) National Teen Conference Orientation for 30 o (1) Page Week Orientation for 30 Managing information and general administrative support of the DHS/DCFS 684 Permanency Planning Reports and NRCYS OKIL Database and Monthly Event Logs. Monitoring of referral of services, case planning, assessment, resource distribution, training and technical assistance from IL Specialists to young adults and care providers/workers in the state of Oklahoma. Evaluating and decision-making case specific strategies for successful transition of young adults from out of home care and those accessing aftercare services. Creating and developing best practice tools, activities, and resources to support service delivery and understanding. Assessing of each identified IL Specialist (7) and their designated DHS/CW Area specific job tasks and delivery methods. Co-Training with DHS/CFSD/OKIL on the OKIL Program o (4) CW2016: Overview of Oklahoma Independent Living Program o (2-4) Conference Workshop/Presentations Planning and Facilitation of the Statewide Adult Advisory Board. o (4) Quarterly Meetings held in Tulsa or Oklahoma City Communicating, strategizing and planning with DHS/CFSD on current trends, practice and development through monthly contract meetings, telephone, and email correspondence.
