Applicants from all industries are encouraged to apply but should have an interest and/or demonstrated expertise in at least one of the 2014 topics. A security clearance is not required. Applicants are welcome to express an interest in more than one of the six 2014 topics, but each selected program participant will only be assigned to one team. Selected applicants will be notified of their selection in mid-February and will be expected to attend a kick-off meeting in late April as well as a concluding meeting in November, both in Washington, D.C. A research field trip is optional. Participants are expected to travel at their own expense; however, most of the project work is done remotely. Applicants should return the completed application form, along with a resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV) to I&APrivateSector@hq.dhs.gov no later than 31 January, 2014. About the Program The IC Analyst – Private Sector Program enables intelligence community analysts and private sector partners to gain a greater understanding of how their disparate, yet complementary, roles can work in tandem to ensure mission success. Participants work on topic-focused teams over six months to create joint analytic products of interest to both the private sector and the U.S. Government. Team members contribute an average of 4 hours per week to the group projects. The program begins with a kick-off event in late April 2014 and concludes with a Summit in November 2014. The 2014 program topic areas are: 3D Printing and Rapid Prototyping Bulk Intrusion Data Analysis Industrial Control Systems in the Critical Manufacturing Sector Non-Mainstream Money Exchanges Unmanned Aerial Systems (UASs) Wearable and Embedded Devices What the Program Can Do For You For private sector analysts, the IC Analyst – Private Sector Program increases depth of expertise, provides new insights and perspectives, and offers a greater appreciation of open source information and analytic outreach.
