Conservation Crisis Exercise Preparation Sheet The following questions help you to prepare for the Conservation Crisis exercise. Answer them before the exercise. Submit your answers right after completing the exercise for participation marks. 1. What is your role? (e.g. factory worker etc) State your stance by describing the issue that concerns you the most. 2. Identify the stances of all other roles. What issues will concern them the most? 3. Based on your answer in question 1 and 2, describe the “best” outcome which addresses concerns of all parties. Describe what each party like / not like about the outcome and explain why with reference to the stances (priorities) of each role. Explain at least two similarities and two differences from all other roles in the Conservation Crisis Case. Describe the stage during the role play when at least one of the similarities or differences may play out. What are your strategies to handle these situations? Using research in question 5, create a list of points that you intend to use during the discussion. Hint: Your initial arguments should support why you think the outcome proposed in question 3 is the “best”. All your arguments should be supported by facts form the role play or research done in question 5.
