Treasurer McRaney moved to approve the February 23, 2007 SGA Agenda. Senator
R. LeSpade seconded. Motion passed.

Senator A. LeSpade moved to approve the February 9, 2007 SGA Minutes. Senator
R. LeSpade seconded. Motion passed.
President’s Report
Information
President Rowley welcomed everyone to the meeting. Rowley reported that “Love
Your Body” week went well, even though the turnout wasn’t what she had hoped for.
Rowley reminded everyone that Friday Follies today is kickball at 4 p.m. President
Rowley noted that everyone needs to start making more time for SGA, and the little
excuses for missing things is no longer acceptable. Student Advocate Smith agreed.

Information/Action
A. January 2007 Treasury Report
President Rowley noted that the Treasury report for January is not finished because
training is not completed and will be on next week’s agenda.

Information
A. Battle Mountain – Senator Chambliss reported that the Battle Mountain campus is
currently planning events for Spring Break.
B. Ely – Senator Ashcraft reported that Ely is working on activities for Spring Break.
C. Pahrump – No report
D. Winnemucca – Senator Metzler reported that they are planning a bowling night
for March 16, 2007.

A. Facilities
President Rowley reported that two video games were broken, but they are now fixed
and the tabletop is not ready for use.

A. Relay for Life
Information/Action
President Rowley requests a cap of $500 to sponsor the Winnemucca’s GBC
American Cancer Society's Relay for Life Team.
Secretary Rowley moved to approve a cap of $500 to sponsor the Winnemucca’s
GBC American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Team. Treasurer McRaney
seconded. Senator R. LeSpade moved to table the motion to March 2, 2007 due to
inadequate information. Senator A. LeSpade seconded. Motion passed.
B. Easter Egg Hunt
Information/Action
Senator Ashcraft requests a cap of $ $250 to host an Easter Egg Hunt and giveaway
on the Ely campus.
Senator Ashcraft moved to approve a cap of $250 to host an Easter Egg Hunt and
giveaway on the Ely campus. Treasurer McRaney seconded. Senator Ashcraft
reported that the Ely campus will be hosting an Easter egg hunt for the younger
children and the giveaway will be for the students. Motion passed.
C. Winnemucca Senator
Information/Action
President Rowley requests the appointment of Channing Jensen to the position of
Senator on the Winnemucca campus for the spring semester.
Senator R. LeSpade moved to approve the appointment of Channing Jensen to the
position of Senator on the Winnemucca campus for the spring semester. Senator
Metzler seconded. President Rowley mentioned that Jensen would have to run in the
spring election for next year if he is interested. Channing explained his motivation
for being involved in SGA. Motion passed.

XIV. Issues and Concerns/Public Comment
Information
President Rowley noted that Gandhi once said, “We must be the change we wish to
see in the world.” She noted that, that is what SGA is for her, and encourages
everyone to be student leaders and make a difference for the college.
Senator Chambliss asked about dates for spring election. President Rowley noted that
spring elections would be April 9th – 20th. Voting would be open April 16th – 20th, and
noted that there would be quite a few Senator positions open this spring.
Treasurer McRaney moved to adjourn the meeting at 1:00 p.m. Senator Leaverton
seconded. Motion passed.
At the call of the President, public comments shall be heard by the SGA. Upon proper request students,
faculty, administration, and the public shall be granted the floor by the President. Please note that due
to time restrictions the President reserves the right and authority to place a time limit of public
comment in the compliance with NRS 241.020 (2) © (3).
