Student Today, Bison Forever! Schedule of Events Nichols College is an amazing place that grants every single one of its students the opportunity to develop professional business skills that prepares them for a successful career. Each student has been touched by philanthropy in one way shape or form. Join us for our second annual The Gift of Opportunity (TGOP),in which we say “thank you,” and also pay it forward by contributing to the Monday: Tag Sale Every item on campus comes with a price. Various items across campus will have price tags displayed, informing students the value and importance of supporting their College. This year’s theme is “Student Today, Bison Forever!” The words Bison Forever resonates when talking about alumni Nate Smith ’89, Chris Langlois ’00 MBA ’04, and Kristen Harmon ’08. These individuals have challenged the current student body to raise $4,000 and it will be matched dollar for dollar. This week is not about how much you give, it is about being a part of the Nichols story. All Nichols students have benefitted from philanthropy; TGOP provides a concrete way of saying thank you and making a difference to the place that you now call home. “TGOP really demonstrates the importance of giving back. Without the generosity of others, my education would not be the same. Thank you!” ~ Josh Deloach ’14 Tuesday: Random Acts of Kindness Day Philanthropy is not just handing over a dollar, but also doing acts of kindness. Do something good today and tweet about it using hash tag #TGOP. What deed you do is up to you, but you can bring cookies to a class, pick a piece of trash up, swipe someone in for lunch or give up control of the remote for a day. Be creative and share your story! Wednesday: Donor Appreciation Day Take part in Donor Appreciation Day and write a note to someone who enabled part of your Nichols experience. Share your thanks by stopping at Davis Hall to sign a thank you card and have a piece of pizza on us. Thursday: Participation Day Each member of the Nichols community can create a culture of giving that will have a lifetime of impact. Today selected students will visit with alumni on or off campus. Friday: Celebration Day Today we celebrate TGOP with our outdoor volleyball tournament, Spike the Bison. The tournament will consist of 60 players, which is comprised of seven teams of 7-8 players made up of alumni, faculty, staff, and students. The tournament starts promptly at 3:30 p.m.
