REPORT FORM TO BE COMPLETED BY LINK GOVERNOR VISITING
THE SCHOOL TO MONITOR THE CURRICULUM
Notes:
1. The Governing Body is required by law to agree the curriculum policy and to monitor and
review its implementation. Link Governors work with Subject Leaders in order to be able to
inform the Governing Body regarding the delivery of the curriculum.
2. Link Governors should consult the Headteacher and arrange a convenient time for a visit
with the Subject Leader. Discuss with the Headteacher and the Subject Leader the purpose
and structure of the visit. Ensure that the Subject Leader has a copy of this form.
3. If possible arrange to observe a teaching session.
4. Ask to see a range of books/work from each year group.
5. Avoid making value judgements when watching lessons/making comments on lessons.
6. During your visit, take a group of children outside the classroom and ask their views of the
school and your link subject.
7. After your visit, write a paragraph for ‘Meet the Governors’ on the school website and the
