The Study China Programme is a three week course held during every Easter and Summer vacation period. It is aimed at all undergraduate students, regardless of what subject they are studying. Students at HND and Bachelors’ level are eligible to apply for the programme. Successful candidates will be learning Chinese language, attending lectures on Chinese culture, society, history and economy and visiting local businesses. Host universities are based in Beijing, Shanghai, Jinan, Hangzhou and Nanjing. For more information about the programme please visit the Study Chine Programme official website at www.studychina.org.uk. Who funds it? The costs of the programme are covered by the government funding bodies; the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills, the Scottish Government and the Department for Employment and Learning in Northern Ireland. Accommodation, food, tuition and excursions are all paid for. However, students have to pay the cost of getting themselves to China – flights, visas and travel insurance. We regret that no funds are available from the International Office. However, students can contact the Alumni Office to discuss the availability of a Placement grant - http://alumni.bath.ac.uk/NetCommunity/SSLPage.aspx?pid=459 How can I apply?
