Take some time to read about each of the 7 biomes on this website. When you think you
have a good idea of the characteristics of each biome, try the activity linked at the bottom
of the page called “Great Graph Match”
Read the introduction then click “for advanced users”
Complete the activity and then click “check em” Raise your hand to have your score
checked by teacher.
Now go back to the starting page and try “To Plant or not to plant”
Complete the activity and then click “score it” Raise your hand to have your score
checked by teacher.
Lab Part 2
Adopt a Biome:
Chose one of the 7 biomes that you find most interesting and research as much as you can
about that biome. Use the website from Lab part 1. If you need more info follow the
links on that page at the bottom of each biome page.
1. What biome did you chose?
2. Where is this biome located on Earth?
3. What is the temperature range there?
4. What is the average precipitation per year?
5. Describe the vegetation (plant life) there.
6. What are some examples of wildlife that might be found in your biome?
7. Today we researched terrestrial biomes (on land). What other biomes are on the earth
that we didn’t look at today? Think of as many as you can!
8. In your research today did you find any information regarding threats / human caused
problems facing your biome? Explain.
